The castle was founded on the Conti Rossi’s fieves as a signal and crossed point between castles of Torrechiara, Montechiarugolo e Rossena of what proves different evident tracks of that period like a protection wall inside of the living room, a control tower and a cistern for water supplying
That wall was struck down leaving only ruins in the beginning of 1400 in a battle with Terzi e Guido Torelli even if it was strongly defended by 4000 warriors.
The impenetrably woody area has been smothering the castle ruins till 1800 when Marchese Paolucci built his own house and utilized castle ruins like scenografic for a residence backdrop and as meeting place for a hunting.
In 1880 when the residence was bought by Conti Zileri-Dal Verme and the villa with a small castle had some substantive transformations that we can see even now thanks to a great work made by architect from Milan Antonio Citterio. In 1936 after the death of Conte Enrico Zileri a villa was bought by the industrialist and the great art collector Comm. Giuseppe Magnani.
Accurately reconstructed by the present proprietors the castle became not only a wonderful and unforgettable place to visit but also romantic and relaxing, full of a particolar charm.
